Unique creatures, named bandicoots, live in Australia and New Guinea. Do you know them? How do you think they look like? If someone super-duper cool appears in your imagination, with orange fur and fascinating smile, wearing shorts and sneakers, it seems like you know about bandicoots not from zoology textbook, but from the popular game series with Crash Bandicoot as the main hero!

Crash Bandicoot is really a legendary guy! His name stands near Mario and Sonic. And now he stopped being just a part of the gaming history – first three games with him were remastered and are available for modern game devices: PlayStation 4, and from June 2018 for Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Windows computers. So gamers can make friends with Crash, playing Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy.

Develops:

Platformers for the original PlayStation

The very first game of the trilogy, “Crash Bandicoot”, appeared in 1996. It was a classic platformer – the hero should explore locations, collect items, jump over abysses, and fight against dangerous enemies. With some changes and improvements, the gameplay of the two next games continues this tradition – “Cortex Strikes Back” and “Warped” were released in 1997 and 1998. All three of them made for the original PlayStation, the very first game console from Sony.

Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is the great game classic with some modern features. It runs on PS4, has significantly improved graphics (even 4k resolution!), re-made audio, cutscenes, and dialogues.

Who is that Crash Bandicoot?

This game hero has his unique personality, even charisma. He is always over-excited and seems like a bit crazy teenager that got super-powers and enjoys them to the max.

Crash Bandicoot has his own story, and N. Sane Trilogy reveals it. Evil Doctor Neo Cortex has created a device that turns usual animals to a sort of super-power creatures. He used it on a usual bandicoot, which became cute and strong, fun and dangerous Crash. The hero escaped from the Doctor and destroys his evil plans again and again.

The story of Crash Bandicoot is obviously very similar to the story of Sonic the Hedgehog and his enemy Doctor Robotnik. But at the same time, Crash leaves really different impressions. And games with him create a bit different experience.

Run! Smash crates! Defeat enemies!

In most of the levels, Crash Bandicoot moves into the depths of the game world or comes out of them. Only time after time, we play in the classic type of side-scrolling platformer. The hero meets enemies and lots of different crates. To get rid of dangers and collect bonus items from crates, Crash can jump on them or use a special spinning action (did someone say “Sonic” again?).

Our Bandicoot eats delicious fruits and wears special protective masks. And he should be really deft to avoid many bottomless pits and unexpected traps, and to defeat very powerful game bosses. Are you ready to help the guy with his noble rescue mission?

The game Skylar & Plux: Adventure on Clover Island has no famous heroes, but still it is a super cool platformer for PS4, Xbox One, and Windows computers.
